A: At their own discretion, each therapist offers a limited number of reduced-rate sessions, depending on availability and need.
A: This really depends on your needs, your unique goals, and how invested you are in the process. Some clients come for shorter-term counselling (6-8 sessions), and others find that therapy is a safe place to land across their life experiences and continue with sessions for years. We’re here to meet you wherever you are and whatever your needs may be.
A: We believe that ‘fitting’ with a therapist is important. Research shows that the relationship between a therapist and client is the number one factor in predicting positive outcomes in counselling. If you don’t connect with your therapist, that’s OK! If something doesn’t feel right, just let your therapist or our admin know and they’ll be happy to provide you with a referral to a more suitable counsellor. You may also try a 15 minute free consult with any number of new therapists to see if you "click".
A: Whether you’re in crisis or looking for personal growth, counselling can help. Counselling can be lifesaving when you’re in severe distress due to trauma, significant diagnoses, or dealing with other extremely painful life situations.   Research shows that counselling is also very helpful for less severe or life-threatening conditions. Counselling often leads to improvement in relationships, increased confidence, solutions to specific problems, significant reduction of stress, and an increase in happiness and well-being.  The therapeutic relationship between you and your counsellor is a safe place to explore who you are, learn more effective ways of coping with life’s challenges, and help you create the kind of life you want to live every day.
A: With your permission we send out a courtesy text reminder 48 hour prior to your appointment time. You may also opt in for email reminders and additional SMS reminders. We typically sent out reminders two days in advance to give you plenty of time to make a change prior to the 24 hour late cancel time period. Due to the likely inability to refill a session on short notice, cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance are subject to a late charge.
A: Not yet, but it's coming! Presently, we offer itemized receipts for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. Most benefits providers will cover services rendered by our licenced psychologists, registered provisional psychologists, social workers, CCC designated therapists. Some insurers will even accept services provided by our counselling intern! Please confirm with your own benefits provider their specific requirements for coverage, and feel free to give us a call at 780-532-4944 with any questions.
A: We accept debit, credit card or cash.
A: Each therapist’s fee schedule is determined by their qualifications, years of experience, and areas of expertise, reflecting industry standards.
